Flying Bike Brewery finally takes flight – brews first batch

It’s been a long ride, but Flying Bike Brewery (Washington’s first cooperative brewery) is currently in the process of brewing its very first batch of beer as I write this. The brewery on Greenwood Avenue North, practically next door to Naked City Brewery, is now up and brewing.

The original recipe was devised and brewed by member-owner David Flynn in Flying Bike’s second Home Brew Challenge. The beer, 7-Spoke Stout, was appropriately sized-up by Flying Bike’s Head Brewer, Kevin Forhan, for the 7-barrel system.

“The IPA is on deck, set to be brewed on Friday, July 3,” said Erinn Hale of Flying Bike. “The taproom at the brewery will have approximately five beers on tap by the time it opens, including the collaborative CDA brewed by Counterbalance.”

We will keep you posted about the opening date.
