Chuckanut Brewery Collaborates with Australian Brewery

We hear a lot about collaborative brewing projects these days. Rarely do we hear about one involving an Australian brewery. Today we learned that Chuckanut Brewery is collaborating with Thunder Road Brewing of Melbourne, Australia.

Here is a press release from Chuckanut Brewery.

We are excited to announce Mari and Will Kemper, owners of Chuckanut Brewery will be going down under for a couple weeks in February! For the first time in Chuckanut history Chuckanut brewmaster Will Kemper will be collaborating internationally with the great folks at Thunder Road Brewing Company in Melbourne, Australia. Craft brew history as we know it is about to experience the first digital beer gone physical with the collaboration of two different beers designed online between Will and Thunder Road Master Brewer Colin Paige!

For years Brewmaster Will Kemper and Chuckanut beers have inspired Thunder Road Brewing Company to focus on quality, innovation and balanced, yet flavorsome beers. Over the last few weeks Chuckanut has been working together with its brother brewery Thunder Road to develop 4 different collaboration beers. These 4 beers will presented at the “Summer Invitational International Collaboration Brew Series” in February, with Thunder Road’s Master Brewer Colin Paige and Senior Brewer Marcus Cox. The two digital collaboration beers will be tapped and the other two will be brewed while the Kempers are visiting. During their time in Melbourne, Will and Mari will also visit hop fields in the area and experience other craft beers available only in Australia.

The four beers being brewed are: Kolsch with Australian hops, Rauchbier using some Australian malts, Maibock, the lighter colored traditional bock, and a New World Golden Ale using a new breed of Australian hops! The Australian Kolsch and Rauch are the product of online communications between Will Kemper and Colin Paige. Learn more about the collaboration brews on our Facebook, the Chuckanut and Thunder Road websites.
