If you’re going to celebrate Oktoberfest, you might as well do it with the best German-style beer available. And for that, Chuckanut Brewery in Bellingham has you covered. Not only do they make, arguably, the best German-style lagers this side of the Atlantic, but they’re hosting an Oktoberfest celebration on September 10th at the brewery in Bellingham. Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen at 601 W Holly St, Bellingham, will be hosting its second Oktoberfest on September 10 from noon until midnight. This celebration of the fall and Bellingham Beer Week will highlight the amazing German style beers Chuckanut is famous for. But there will be lots of fun activities and food besides the beer for the entire family to enjoy including a Bouncy House for kids, face painters, adult bier garden games, and lots of live music all day and into the night! And don’t forget to get ready for the Yodeling, Costume and Liter Holding Contests. Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen will open their doors at noon to start the festivities. A very limited supply of Chuckanut Oktoberfest 2016 half liter mugs will be available for purchase along with a selection of packaged tickets for purchases of mugs and drinks.
Chuckanut wants everyone to enjoy their Oktoberfest with no entry fees. The food will be provided by various food trucks for a variety of eats. For the beer drinker Chuckanut will be offering its award winning German style Fest Bier 2016, along with other delicious European style ales and lager beers. Live music starts at 12:30 with Good Sleep alternative rock, followed by The Happy Wanderers German sing along band at 3 and playing until 6:30 pm. Cranky Neighbors and Rivers to Roads, local Indy bands, will play til closing. There will be a costume contest for those in their leiderhausen and dirndals as well as a yodeling contest for the adventurous (or silly)! Plus, new this year a Liter Holding contest where the winning contestant has to hold out a full liter of liquid with a straight arm the longest to win, not as easy as you think!

Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen’s regular menu will be suspended for the day so there’s plenty of room to sit and enjoy all the Oktoberfest celebrations and activities. The restaurant will resume its regular menu and hours on Sunday, September 11 at 11 am. Spread the word and bring your family and friends to the Chuckanut Oktoberfest on Saturday September 10 and celebrate all that’s fall!
