Chainline Brewing and Georgetown Brewing sharing bunk beds – a collaboration

They’re calling it a bunk beds collaboration. Chainline Brewing and Georgetown Brewing are making the same beer, basically, at their respective facilities. The two beers are the same, only different. Georgetown Brewing will brew using a single mash infusion method and then ferment the beer using ale yeast, with the result being an India Pale Ale. Chainline Brewing will brew using a step-mash system and then ferment the beer using lager yeast, with the result being an India Pale Lager. Ale yeast is often  referred to as a “top fermenting” yeast, while lager yeast is often referred to as a “bottom fermenting” yeast. Bottom, top, bunk beds.

The two beers will be introduced side-by-side, or one atop the other, beginning Wednesday, June 7th at a series of events around the Seattle-Tacoma area. Keep an eye on the Georgetown Brewing Facebook page and the Chainline Brewing Facebook page for event locations and detail.
