Cask-O-Rama Starts Tonight at The Beveridge Place Pub

beveridge_place_pubAs we originally reported, Cask-O-Rama is the culmination of the month-long Hopterfest celebration at The Beveridge Place Pub in West Seattle. Cask-O-Rama is kind of like a mini beer fest. If you appreciate cask-conditioned beer and you like IPA, do not miss this event. Starting tonight at 6:00, there will be more than 20 cask-conditioned IPAs available. Most of them are Washington beers, but not exclusively. Sampler trays are the way to go. Seriously, you don’t have the time or the capacity to sample 20+ pints of IPA. And you will want to try them all.

Get there tonight for the best selection. The beer starts flowing (thanks entirely to gravity) at 6:00. Expect a crowd. Bring a little patience. It will be worth it. Beer will flow until it is gone. Some kegs will not make it through the night. Some will last all weekend.

Rob Farris (the Bev’s beertender extraordinaire) came up with the idea. Originally, it was intended to be a simple little celebration to announce the Beveridge Place IPA of the year; however, Cask-O-Rama has grown to take on a life of its own. At some point tonight, they will announce that Schooner Exact 3 Grid IPA, Harmon Pt. Defiance IPA, or Boundary Bay IPA will be next year’s “house IPA.” Those were the three finalists in this year’s Hoptoberfest competition. (More of a public vote—or pub vote—than a competition.)

Come join the fun. Tell ‘em the blog sent you.
