Big Wood Festival at Brouwer’s Cafe, Dec. 3

Updated November 30 with the complete beer list as provided by Brouwer’s Cafe (at bottom of post).

It’s almost time for the annual Big Wood Festival at Brouwer’s Cafe. For those of you who fancy big, dark, and/or barrel-aged beers, this event offers more than 50 different wood-aged beers for your drinking pleasure.

The event kicks off on Thursday, December 3rd and runs through the weekend. When the doors open at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, there will be a line. Even after the doors open, don’t be surprise to encounter a wait. Some of the most highly coveted beers will go fast, most beers will likely last into the weekend.

Expect to enjoy beers from local breweries like Engine House No. 9, Propolis Brewing, Fremont Brewing, Holy Mountain Brewing, Wander, Silver City Brewery and others. Also, rare beers from distant lands, like Avery, Brouwerij Hof ten Dormaal, Logsdon Farmhouse, De Struise Brouwers, Midnight Sun, Firestone Walker, Lost Abbey, and many more.

In many cases these are big, potent brews, so it’s best to pace yourself. Consider visiting Brouwer’s more than once over the course of the festival.
