In June 2022, Stemma Brewing celebrated its third anniversary. On the heels of that milestone, the Bellingham brewery announced its plans to expand its operation.

Last week via social media, Stemma Brewing announced the acquisition of the property to the immediate south of the existing brewery and beer garden. As the image below shows, this triples the brewery’s footprint. Exactly what Stemma Brewing intends to do with all that outdoor space, and the larger structure, remains to be seen, but it’s good news no matter how you look at it. I’d imagine we can look forward to more beer and more elbow room.

“Today we officially acquired the 1019 Iowa building (originally occupied by Cable Comm) right next door to our taproom and the entire lot with it,” said the statement on social media. “This not-so-little secret has been many months in the works and we’re so glad to finally share the news!”

“There is sooo much planning ahead, but we can’t wait to share more details as we grow and develop this massive new space for us!”
