Beery Happenings This Weekend: 2 Birthdays & 2 Barleywine Festivals

Here is some information about beer events happening this weekend around the Seattle area. Put on your party hat: American Brewing and Elliott Bay Brewing are celebrating birthdays. Also, pull up your socks: there are two Barleywine festivals happening this weekend. Details below.

Barleywine Bacchanal Continues at the Bev

The Beveridge Place Pub (blog sponsor) is deep into the cellar by this time. That means plenty of great Barleywine awaits you at the Barleywine Bacchanal. The event started last Saturday and runs through this Saturday (March 3rd). You will find an outrageous assortment of the most bodacious brews: 24 taps dedicated to Barleywine.

Join American Brewing at its Edmonds brewery this Saturday, March 3, for an anniversary celebration. The fun gets started at 1:00 p.m.  and continues on into the night until 11:00 p.m. Live music will be provided by Steve Stefanowicz from 2:00 – 5:00 and Third Train Running from 7:00 – 10:00.

Bring some canned food; the event is a fundraiser and food drive for the local food bank. For every item you donate you will be given a raffle ticket. More tickets, more chances to win. They’ll be giving away American Brewing swag. We also hear they will be introducing some cool new swag at the event.

Hard Liver Festival

At Brouwer’s Cafe, they don’t take beer lightly. Especially during Hard Liver Festival, the annual celebration of Barleywine.  The beers go on tap when the doors open on Saturday and pour until they’re gone. Likely, a line will form outside the door a couple hours before opening time.  Expect the Angel’s Share from Lost Abbey Brewing, along with some of the other premium selections, to disappear quickly.

Anything else going on this weekend? If so, share the news in the Comments section below.
