The idea for the beer started after the Brewery formed a special bond with a Ranger and his wife. They were in the taproom on the night before one of his deployments.  That first meeting turned into a friendship and led to an introduction to the Ranger Community and the Pointe du Hoc Foundation. Named for the 10 story cliffs Rangers scaled on D-Day, the PDHF is a 501©3 whose mission is to honor the courage, fortitude, and selfless sacrifices of 2d Battalion Rangers and their families who have served in the unit from WWII to the present.

During the release party at Narrows Brewing, $1.00 for each LEAD THE WAY draft sold will be donated by the brewery to the PDHF.  On an ongoing bases, for every bottle of LTW beer sold, 50 cents will be donated to PDHF. Brewery Managing Partner Scott Wagner said, “We are a local brewery supporting our local heroes.  We want these guys to know how much we appreciate what they do. Honoring them with a label, and creating an ongoing donation to PDHF was a fun way to do it.”
