Barleywine Bacchanal XIV kicks off this Thursday at Beveridge Place Pub

The annual Barleywine Bacchanal kicks off this Thursday at the Beveridge Place Pub. In all, they’ll dedicate 30 taps to the biggest and boldest of all beer style. Beers from near and far, domestic and imported, but all bodacious as hell.

Over 70 barleywines will enter the rotation over the course of the four-day event. Keep an eye on the Facebook event page for announcements about rare, vertical tasting opportunities.

This year the Beveridge Place Pub decided to compact the event into one long weekend: Thursday, February 18 through Sunday, February 21. In the past, the event has lingered for a week-plus. That was great, but there’s no denying that the big push of barleywine fans showed up the first couple of days.

The Beveridge Place Pub handles events like this exceedingly well. You can order flights of six barleywines and hunker down with your taster tray, sample your selections and then decide if you have the stamina to continue. Designate a driver, use public transportation, and otherwise be responsible. Stay hydrated.
