It seems like only yesterday that 7 Seas Brewing first fired up the brew kettle in Gig Harbor, and it’s hard to believe that is was 2010 when 7 Seas became the first Washington craft brewery to package its beer in aluminum cans. Alas, here we are, 7 Seas Brewing is turning 7 years old.
In seven years, the brewery has accomplished some big things, moving from a tiny, pocket-size taproom to a much larger space to accommodate its many fans. Along the way, the aforementioned thing about cans. These days, construction is underway at another, even larger facility in nearby Tacoma.

Gig Harbor, WA, July 5, 2016 –On Saturday July 9, 7 Seas Brewing will celebrate its 7th Anniversary with a party at their Gig Harbor Tap Room location.
The annual anniversary bash is an opportunity to show appreciation for everyone who has supported 7 Seas Brewing over these last amazing seven years. Without our communities’ support founders Mike Runion and Travis Gutterson would not have been able to keep expanding the business and offering innovative new brews.
7 Seas president, Mike Runion stated, ”Seven really is our lucky number. This year’s celebration is especially exciting for us since we are in the midst of our long anticipated expansion into Tacoma. Additionally, it is the 7th year running we were voted Best Brewery by South Sound Magazine,” he continued, “We are looking forward saying thanks with a beautiful full day of music, food, games and 7 Seas beer, including a Commemorative Anniversary Golden Ale!”
The 7 Seas Golden Birthday Celebration begins at 12 noon and ends at 8 pm. This year’s all-ages party will expand beyond the Tap Room into the parking lot with four local bands including: The Twang Junkies, The Sound and Fury, The Silver Dollars, and C-Leb and the Kettle Black, food by the Galley and Buck-B-Q. The Tap Room will be open for growler fills and merchandise only. It is suggested that folks bring cash to enjoy the beer and food, as debit and credit cards will only be accepted for merchandise purchases. Cover charge is $4 per person to thank our talented musicians.
