5 Rights Brewing – expansion plans & a Father’s Day beer festival

The Marysville brewery is expanding its taproom, inside and out, and will host a beer fest on Father’s Day Weekend

When you visited 5 Rights Brewing in downtown Marysville, you probably noticed that there is a café next door. The two businesses are actually adjoined. The brewery recently announced that it has secured the space formerly occupied by Wander Coffee Bar and Eatery.

In addition to increasing the size of the taproom, 5 Rights Brewing is in the process of building and permitting the kitchen so it can offer guests a bite to eat along with their beer.

“Unfortunately our neighbors at Wander Coffee Bar and Eatery next door didn’t make it through the last shutdown,” explain R.J. Whitlow, head brewer and co-owner at 5 Rights Brewing. “But it has allowed us to take over that space and double our existing taproom. We are in the process of expanding our health department permit and building out the kitchen so that we will be offering food to our guests in the very near future.”

Adding Outdoor Space

But that’s not all. 5 Rights Brewing is also adding an outdoor space. “We also started construction on our 2nd Street Community Pavilion, which is an expansive outdoor covered seating area with tons of room for people to enjoy our beers in a great outdoor setting. Anticipated opening date is June 18th, just in time for our 1st Annual Dads and Drafts event.”

A Father’s Day Beer Fest

The Dads and Drafts festival will feature a number of breweries, not just 5 Rights Brewing, and is intended to act as a scaled-down substitute for the annual Washington Brewers Festival, traditionally held at Marymoor Park in Redmond each Father’s Day Weekend. Reservations/tickets are recommended, though the event will be open to walk-ups as space allows and as the quantity of beer allows.

“Since there won’t be a Washington Beer Fest again this year we decided to do one of our curated multi-brewery guest events so that people can have a craft beer experience to celebrate on Father’s Day Weekend,” said R.J. “We have a great lineup of breweries, food trucks, and other attractions to make it a great family destination.”
